OperaMaya Policies, Rules and Regulations.
a) Drug use, sexual harassment, or any other illegal act is strictly prohibited while participating in or under the employment of OperaMaya and will result in the immediate dismissal without prior notice or payment.
b) In case of missed flight or other travel delays it is the responsibility of the Student/Artist/Faculty/Staff to notify OperaMaya immediately. OperaMaya takes no responsibility for said travel disturbances and/or the additional costs potentially incurred by them.
c) All Payments (application fees/deposits/tuition) are taxable according to Indiana State tax law and non refundable.
d) All students enrolled in OperaMaya as a class must comply with with both their home institution and OperaMaya policy.
e) Late withdrawals will not be accepted, and may be assessed the full payment of tuition and fees as well as any potential additional costs incurred by OperaMaya on behalf of the Student/Artist/Faculty/Staff in obtaining their replacement including but not limited to the cancelation of scholarships and awards administered by OperaMaya.
f) OperaMaya exercises all possible care in the preparation and operation of its programs, but acts only as an agent for airlines or contractors providing transportation, accommodations, or other services. All coupons, vouchers, tickets or receipts issued are subject to the tariffs, terms, and conditions under which such transportation, accommodations or other services are provided by the airlines or contractors. Neither OperaMaya nor any affiliated or subsidiary companies shall be or become liable or responsible to any purchaser or passenger for any loss, injury or damage to persons, property, for accommodations, transportation, or other services, resulting directly, or indirectly, from acts of God, dangers, incident to the sea, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of governments or other authorities, de jure or de facto wars, whether declared or undeclared, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantine or customs regulations, delays or cancellations of, or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas, or other documents.
g) In the event of cancelation either in part or whole, due to unforseen circumstances including but not limited to acts of governments or other authorities, acts of God, dangers, de jure or de facto wars, whether declared or undeclared, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, epidemics or terrorism, neither OperaMaya nor any of its affiliates will be held liable and no reimbursment for payments made either directly to or on behalf of OperaMaya will be made.
h) During the global pandemic known as COVID 19, all OperaMaya affiliates, professors, performers, and students must show proof of vaccinations for COVID 19 in order to participate in any and all in person events.
i) OperaMaya in compliance with the quickly evolving global travel situation will defer to all local and national authorities regarding COVID regulations for travel and/or presentations, gatherings and responsible practices. OperaMaya in no way accepts responsibility for the health or medical treatment of its audience, faculty, staff or students as it is the sole responsibility of each and every individual to maintain protocols regarding the public health crisis and to maintain an informed status regarding said protocols and rules.
